Cinema Tehran Presents: Taste of Cherry by Abbas Kiarostami

Cinema Tehran presents Abbas Kiarostami’s seminal masterpiece “Taste of Cherry”.

A middle aged man drives through the outskirts of Tehran, searching for someone to carry a private plan. Through a series of encounters, Kiarostami shapes this quietly absorbing film around a question that remains open: what makes life worth living?

Winner of the 1997 Palme d’Or at Cannes, Taste of Cherry became the first Iranian film to receive the festival’s highest prize. Moving between everyday observation and fable, it is one of Kiarostami’s most profound meditations on life, death, and the possibility of renewal.

Cinema Tehran continues the world of Disco Tehran and is created and curated by Arya Ghavamian.
