Tár + Live Performance | Instruments of Desire

From writer-producer-director Todd Field comes TÁR, starring Cate Blanchett as Lydia Tár, the celebrated chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. We meet Tár at the height of her career, as she’s preparing both a book launch and a much-anticipated live recording of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. Over the ensuing weeks, her life and career unravel as allegations of misconduct erode her carefully cultivated public image. The result is a searing examination of artistic authority, institutional politics, and the blurred boundary between mentorship and exploitation.
