Psycho-Fiction: The Surreal Nightmares of Screaming Mad George
Kurt Russell is Jack Burton, an independent trucker piloting the Pork Chop Express through the streets of San Francisco’s Chinatown. When a new friend’s fiancée is kidnapped, the pair find themselves thrust into the middle of a supernatural gang war that pits them against dueling sorcerers, freakish fiends, and black magic. Big Trouble in Little China combines John Carpenter’s affinity for burly men-on-a-mission narratives with the fantastical tropes of vintage adventure serials—an even more colorful, cartoonish, and muscular take on the Indiana Jones formula. Its jaw-dropping array of practical effects includes several pieces by Screaming Mad George, including a sewer demon and floating creature dotted with dozens of bloated eyeballs.
